Managed IT pricing models explained for UAE businesses

Before you compare quotes, understand how they are built. Here are the five common pricing models, what moves the monthly fee up or down, and the questions that make two proposals comparable.

The short answer

Managed IT services in the UAE are usually priced per user per month, per device per month, as tiered plans, or as a traditional AMC with block hours on top. The fee is driven by scope: users, devices, servers, sites, security, backup, hours covered and onsite work. Compare quotes on what is included and what is excluded, not on the headline number.

The five common pricing models

1. Per user, per month

You pay a fixed fee for each person supported. Everything that person uses — laptop, phone, Microsoft 365 account, email — is covered. It is the most common model for offices because it follows headcount and is easy to budget. Check how the provider counts shared mailboxes, part-time staff and leavers.

2. Per device, per month

You pay for each endpoint, server or network device under management. It suits environments with many shared machines, such as a warehouse, a clinic or a production floor. Watch for every printer, firewall and access point becoming a separate line.

3. Tiered plans

The provider bundles services into levels — for example an essential tier for monitoring and helpdesk, and higher tiers adding security, backup, onsite visits and strategic reviews. Tiers make comparison easier, but read what moves between levels. Our Essential, Professional and Enterprise plans are scoped this way and quoted to your organisation.

4. Traditional AMC

An annual maintenance contract covers repairs and a number of visits for a yearly fee. It is familiar in the UAE, but often reactive: nothing happens until something breaks. See IT AMC explained for how it differs from managed IT.

5. Block hours or pay-as-you-go

You buy a bank of engineer hours, or pay per call-out. It looks cheap until a bad month. The provider earns more when things break, which is the opposite of what you want. The break-fix comparison explains why.

What drives the monthly fee

  • Users and devices. The base of almost every quote.
  • Servers and sites. On-premises servers, branches and warehouses add monitoring and travel.
  • Security stack. Endpoint protection, email security, firewall management and identity controls.
  • Backup and recovery. Including Microsoft 365 backup and tested restores.
  • Hours of cover. Business-hours service desk, plus any monitoring and on-call arrangements for critical systems.
  • Onsite work. Scheduled visits versus remote-first support.
  • Compliance and reporting. Documentation, audits and quarterly reviews.

How to make two quotes comparable

  1. Give every provider the same inventory: users, devices, servers, sites and cloud services.
  2. Ask each to list inclusions and exclusions on one page.
  3. Ask for response targets by priority, in business hours, and what counts as a first response. Our SLA guide covers what to look for.
  4. Ask what is billable on top: projects, hardware, licences, after-hours work.
  5. Ask what reporting you will receive each month.

Missan 365 has run IT for UAE organisations for 22+ years, with 5,000+ clients served since 2004. We do not publish list prices because two 20-person companies can need very different services. We scope the plan to you and put the price, the scope and the first-response targets in writing.

Common questions

Questions UAE businesses ask.

How much do managed IT services cost in the UAE?

There is no honest single figure. The monthly fee depends on the number of users and devices, the servers and sites in scope, the security and backup included, the hours covered and how much onsite work is needed. Any provider quoting a firm price without asking these questions is guessing. Missan 365 plans are quote-based: tell us your setup and we reply within one business day with a written quote.

Is per-user or per-device pricing better?

Per-user pricing suits most offices, because people now use several devices and cloud services, and the fee follows headcount. Per-device pricing can suit sites with many shared machines, such as warehouses, clinics or production floors. Many agreements combine the two: a per-user fee for people and a separate line for servers and network equipment.

What is usually not included in the monthly fee?

Hardware, software licences, large projects (office moves, migrations, new sites) and work outside the agreed scope are commonly billed separately. A good proposal lists these exclusions plainly, so the monthly fee is predictable and project costs are agreed before work starts.

How is managed IT different from an IT AMC?

A traditional annual maintenance contract (AMC) usually covers repairs and a set number of visits. Managed IT adds continuous monitoring, patching, security, backup checks, reporting and response targets in writing. The fee may look similar; the scope and accountability are not.
