What is reactive IT quietly costing you?
Most UAE businesses underestimate the price of downtime. Put your own numbers in below and see the cost per hour, per incident and per year — instantly, in your browser. Then see how managed monitoring removes most of it.
The calculator
Your numbers, your real downtime cost.
Adjust the inputs — everything updates live. The maths is the standard model used to cost IT downtime, run entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent.
Your figures
Five inputs. Use fully-loaded costs where you can — the truer the inputs, the truer the number.
Tip: monthly salary ÷ 176 ≈ hourly cost. Add overheads for a fully-loaded figure.
For customer-facing or production systems where an outage directly stops sales.

The good news
Most of this cost is preventable.
Downtime is rarely bad luck — it is usually unmanaged risk. Managed services turns that hidden, reactive cost into a predictable monthly fee, and works to remove it. Three things bring the number down fastest.
Proactive monitoring
Continuous monitoring and automated patching catch most failures before they ever reach your team — so the outages simply stop happening.
Tested backup & DR
When something does break, verified restores turn what could be days of lost work into hours — a bad day instead of a catastrophe.
Managed cybersecurity
Ransomware is the costliest downtime of all. Layered defence with Microsoft Defender and our Sangfor Gold practice stops it at the entry point.

Common questions
About the cost of downtime.
How is the cost of IT downtime calculated?
The simplest model multiplies the number of affected staff by their average loaded hourly cost, then by the hours lost per incident and the number of incidents per year. For customer-facing or production systems you can add any direct revenue lost per hour. This calculator does exactly that with your own figures — nothing is stored or sent.
What counts as IT downtime?
Any period your team cannot work normally because of technology — a server or network outage, a Microsoft 365 or email disruption, a ransomware lockout, or a system left broken after a failed update. Even short, frequent outages add up quickly across a whole team.
How does an MSP reduce downtime cost?
A managed services provider runs your IT as a continuous service rather than waiting for it to fail. Proactive monitoring and patching prevent many incidents, tested backup and disaster recovery shorten the ones that happen, and managed security stops the most expensive cause of all. That is the whole point of moving from break-fix to managed.
Why does reactive IT cost more than it looks?
Break-fix only bills you for the repair — the real cost sits off the invoice, in the hours your team could not work, the revenue lost while systems were down, and the incidents that were never prevented. Managed services moves that hidden cost into a predictable monthly fee and works to remove it.
